A bill must be adopted in the same form in both the House of Commons and the Senate before it can receive Royal Assent, the last step in the legislative process that allows a bill to become law.

• This legislation offers the Government added flexibility while Parliament is not sitting should funding be required in regards to COVID-19.

Bill C-13, COVID-19 Emergency Response Act (March 25, 2020)

• The COVID-19 Emergency Response Act helps ensure Canadians receive the support they need during the ongoing pandemic.

Bill C-14, COVID-19 Emergency Response Act, No. 2 (April 11, 2020)
